Hi.
Today, me, Jia Jie, and Jing Yuan were to meet Mrs Yap at the library at the start of RE period for some briefing about the Taiwan trip that we were going for. After the briefing, Jing Yuan decided that we were going to make the bones for skeleton for SSVH today. Therefore, while Charles was filling up the report template in the library, the rest of us went to J8 to buy kitchen towels as well as PVA glue.
When the materials were finally brought, we headed to the physics lab to make the bones. So heres a little tutorial to teach you how to make bones from newspapers, PVA glue, kitchen towels and water. First you deep some newspaper in water, then you start wrapping that newspaper with small strips of other wet newspaper. Wrap until you get your desired size and shape, then you leave it to dry, when it is dry, mix some PVA glue in water, then use the same process but now with the kitchen towels and glue water to wrap your newspaper structure. Done.
However, this was not as simple as it seems. After all, this is the HUMAN SKELETON. So, in my opinion, it is impossible. But, given our optimistic outlook of life, we decided to try it out anyway. I shall not describe the process because it is too long. But heres the results. We had two Dog bones (completed the wrapping of kitchen towels but not dry yet), two random newspaper sticks (Supposedly the calf bones + the heels attached), and two flippers (supposedly the feet bones). Therefore, i declare the bones a failure. But Jing Yuan begs to differ, he seems to be living in denial and claims that they look nice.
Anyway, all out remaining newspapers and the kitchen towels and the PVA glue, and the funny bones are now kept in the staff room with Mrs Lim.
Thats all from me.
Yi Wen
